Your home should be your safe space! After all, it is one of the only places that is entirely your own. Many of our clients come to us with strong visions and preferences in their design style, while others are open to ideas. A few years ago, we had a client come to us with a lakefront home they wanted to remodel. They wanted something elegant and timeless. And so, we got to work brainstorming ideas until we came up with a unique design concept. This home is truly one of a kind. It is a fusion of different types of European inspiration, including Italian, French, Mediterranean and more.
From the moment you pull in the driveway, you’re transported into your own little European paradise! The luxurious circle drive gives you an idea of what to expect when you walk through the door. A center fountain, along with marble statues and appropriate landscaping truly make you feel as though you’re walking into an Italian villa.
Once you step through the door, you’re greeted with rustic wooden beams and cool blue and beige tones that set the mood for the entire home. The furniture is a wide mix of vintage and antiques, to create an eclectic but laid back feel. Right off of the living room, you’ll find an outdoor table underneath a wire pergola, a spot that will make you feel as though you’re living on Lake Como.
Make your way to the kitchen, featuring a large booth surrounding a breakfast table in the center- quite a unique place in which to enjoy a meal. A new shade of wood is introduced in the cabinetry, along with tilework that feels reminiscent of french country design style. While you make your way throughout the rest of the home, you may notice a wide variety of patterns used in decor, as well as textured paint on walls and furniture to add interest, and provide a sense of luxury.
While the inside provides a calm escape, the backyard is truly the star of the show. Step outside and you might feel as though you’re on your own private island. A spa and large infinity pool overlooks Lake Woodlands, lined with lounge chairs providing the ultimate spot to catch some rays. Or, perhaps you’d prefer to enjoy a quiet morning cup of coffee on your bedroom patio overlooking the lawn. Wherever you choose to spend your time, there is always a stellar view to enjoy.
