Luxury custom homes are all unique. However, there are luxury custom home features that are used frequently to elevate the space. Matt Powers Custom Homes has been building custom homes in the Texas area for over twenty years. Our award-winning team knows all there is to know about luxury design, and we can’t wait to share our expertise with our clients. If you’re looking to transform your home, we have a few elements that you can incorporate from our luxury homes!

Natural Elements

Using natural light can elevate any space in your home. This is especially helpful if the space is smaller than you would like, as windows and sunshine can help the space appear larger and more luxurious. In addition to this, neutral, earthy tones are being used in luxury custom homes all around the world and add a sense of calm and warmth to your home. Rustic, organically shaped furniture and decor add another element of texture and modernism to a design. This is also seen in pillars, open ceilings, and exposed brick and stone.

Mixing Textures

While organically shaped furniture and decor add a layer of luxury to your home’s design, consider adding in more textures and fabric types to create a more visually appealing space. For instance, velvet-backed chairs or hand-knitted throw blankets can not only be comfortable but increase your home’s luxurious feel. Mixing textures within a design doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice aesthetics, either. Most of these materials can be used with the same warm, natural hues that you’ve already incorporated. Mixing metals is another feature of luxury custom homes that can be incorporated into your living space. Don’t be afraid of having gold and brass in the same room – sometimes it can elevate the space even more than if you stick to one metal.

Luxury Entertaining

A common theme that we see here at Matt Powers Custom Homes is that our clients love to entertain. Whether that means they want a large dining table for their family dinners or an outdoor bar on the patio, there is a dedicated space for entertaining. Even if your space isn’t as large as you’d like it to be, there are a few steps that you can take to carve out your own entertainment spot. Using decor that is displayed on the walls instead of counters will not only save your space for serving, but wine and champagne bottles will look gorgeous on your walls surrounded by soft, warm lights. Invisible or floating shelves are another great way to add more storage space in an aesthetic, luxurious way. If you have an outdoor space that’s not being utilized as much as it should be, consider adding quality, weather-proof outdoor furniture. The more you make your guests comfortable, the more luxurious your home will feel.
